Scott's English Success IELTS Reading Test

1. About The IELTS Reading Test

The IELTS Reading Test has:

3 passages (Academic)

OR

3 sections (General Training)

Both versions contain 40 questions and you have 1 hour to complete the test.

Passage/Section 1 is the easiest.

Passage/Section 2 is a little more difficult.

Passage/Section 3 is most difficult.

The Reading test is different for the Academic and General Training versions of the test.

General Training

The Academic test has more complex, academic words.

The General Training test has more basic, 'survival' language.

2. OUR EXAM

For this test you will read a mixture of both Academic and General Training questions.

Each screen contains text and questions of the kind you could expect to encounter in the IELTS Academic and General Training tests.

NOTE: In the real IELTS test, you will have to read the texts and answer 40 questions in one hour.

3. What to Do

There are 15 questions across 4 sections.

Section 1: Questions 1-4

Section 2: Questions 5-8

Section 3: Questions 9-11

Section 4: Questions 12-15
